USA Today Reveals Leaked White House Immigration Plan Draft
A draft of the White House’s immigration plan was received by USA Today, which published the details of the draft on Saturday. Details of the immigration plan include a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants. The path would require that any immigrant pass a background check, pay back taxes, after which they will be allowed residency for 4 years. After the 4 years, they can file another 4 year extension and be eligible for citizenship after being a resident for 8 years. The plan has bipartisan backing, with Marco Rubio initially helping with the plan but now criticizing the details, claiming it would be ‘dead on arrival.’
